So the golden road I went down seems to have borne fruit.... now I shall try to get the extruder moving along the x-axis without using my fingers!

When I read that these pins needed to connect to the power wires, I promptly got out my soldering Iron and made a mess with wires all
twisted around and shiny lumpy globes of solder that all looked terribly
un-pretty.
This can't be how its supposed to happen so I have since bought a new connector. Old and new are side by side below (the middle pin broke off in the end when I was messing around) but finding out the name for something in German when I don't really know what to call it in English was surprisingly easy. Thankyou Conrad.de!
In order to print this is what I need to connect to the power supply in my house. Its just like the charger cable for your laptop with one of those box middle parts - the connector puts a nice adapter shaped hole in the Reprap so I can plug it in.
The wires below are supposed to be soldered to the pins. Both wires must be joined to another wire just like them (so double the thickness that already won't fit through the pin's holes.) One connects to the pin on the left and the other (twisted together with the other wire of same size) is to be connected to both other pins. There needs to be 19V coming through the one and 0V coming through the other.
I think there are special little connectors that I got in my crimping set - nothing to do with hair or spontaneous rhymes - but which I think may provide me with a good solution. The only problem is which one is best? Is there a most functional way? Does this differ from the most aesthetically economical way? How can I gain perspective on a problem that I've no experience with?
Here's where I've begun. Now I'm going to get down to it. El Classico will not distract me. The path glittering with gold is not always the right one. A helpful comment or two would be most welcome :D

So here I sit.
And here is my bright new magnifying glass.
With zoomorphic clips for clamping peeceebees.
This is the wiring, what the wiring wiki calls the messy phase. Perhaps I took that to be a metaphor for the part of my life where I all upped and found myself and all that. This is just a secondary echo then, of all that I've "learned" in the last decade. Or is it the point at which negative flips to positive, a new origin of a new example, a markless page just waiting to be desecrated?
Or perhaps I don't want to reach that flipover point. Perhaps I'm scared by all the possibilities. Perhaps I shouldn't be scared of plastic schnik-schnak.
So here goes, hold on. It's going to be a long way down.

I have a feeling its going to be, in some obvious way, opposite to what I just said.
