Productive use of time....

Once I'd done the necessary this morning, I dedicated myself to an afternoon of festive productivity.
Despite the half-truth of that, I have been somewhat productive over the festive period.
As a gift to my baby and light of my life Matilda, I thought I'd give the shoddy rocking horse a new coat of paint. I knew she'd be getting no end of plastic schnick-schnack from all and sundry just by being 18 months old and there's bound to be enough of that kicking around when I have carried out my new year's resolution...

Here's shots before, you can see where I started sanding paint off of poor Horsie's face:

And here's the finished product in all its choclatey glory:

So there's companies trying to corner the market in cheap 3D printers this year and it should be an interesting battle to watch from the sidelines. We should all have our "less than a thousand €uro$" at the ready. This kickstarter project needs a helping hand and with 18 days left $20000 is starting to look like a lot of money. But it really isn't, so go ahead and give it all. And at the same time prepay and preorder your printer that you just need to snap together. Boy this thing could put me out of a blog!

Oh thats what that does

We got a 2D printer in work today.
There's an example of a mature technology.
I spent the whole day taking photos and printing them out 2 minutes later.

It was good fun. The kids at work would also react the same if we had a 3D printer. "Oh thats what that does."
